She is widely recognized as a sustainability champion, advocating for practical practices and strategies that enhance the quality of life in affected communities.

Currently, Uni holds a leadership position at the American Petroleum Institute (API), overseeing their environmental health, justice, and equity portfolios. Additionally, she is instrumental in developing and executing a program to navigate the intricate landscape of rapidly evolving federal and state regulations. Uni's outstanding contributions in this role earned her API's prestigious Problem Solver Award, acknowledging her success in initiating, building, and leading the environmental health portfolio.

Uni's expertise in environmental justice has earned her a prominent role as an appointee by the Colorado State Legislature on the Environmental Justice Action Task Force (EJATF), where she actively contributes to developing regulatory recommendations. Her commitment to fostering a just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive (JEDI) culture has also been recognized with the Ally Energy GRIT award, honoring individuals who demonstrate growth, resilience, innovation, and talent. Uni's insights are highly sought after, and she is frequently invited to participate as a panel member, sharing her expertise on platforms like the Roundtable on Environmental Justice and Equity in Infrastructure Permitting, led by FERC Chairman Willie Philips.

Uni's educational background includes a Master of Science in Toxicology from The American University, and she is currently pursuing a doctorate in Public Health at George Washington University. Having grown up in East Africa, Uni has witnessed firsthand the environmental burdens communities face, which has fueled her passion for making a tangible difference in people's lives.
