ABOUT THOMAS

 

Jerome Thomas is a director of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) programs and emerging markets. He is responsible for strategy development, capture and proposal management, and launching major projects and programs valued in excess of $1B. 

 

Jerome joined HII in 1986 as an apprentice pipefitter. Since then, he has progressed into increasing responsibility in production, nuclear engineering, construction, project management, and program management while building and servicing nuclear-powered warships, leading nuclear and environmental services at Department of Energy sites, and later leading strategic business development initiatives. 

 

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton General Management Program (GMP), Jerome also holds an executive master’s degree in Program and Portfolio Management from Georgetown University, an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology, a bachelor’s degree in Technology Management from Saint Leo University; an associate’s degree in Mechanical Technology & Marine Engineering from Thomas Nelson Community College; and is a graduate of HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School.

 

Thomas is a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional® and holds a Private Directors Association® certificate in Private Company Governance.
